Bavella Needles...

A long turning road from Porto-Vechio, edged with pine trees and chestnut trees; sometimes blocked by wild pigs : which think that the greenery is better on the side of the bitumen, climbs slowly towards the famous Bavella Needles(The Bavella Peaks). Needles which have names as : Punta di u Pargulu, Punta di a Vacca, Punta di Ariettu or Punta di Acellu.

How could we qualify the natural show which presents itself in the eyes of the passenger? Majestic, proudy,wild and impressive, Bavella Needles seem to dash forward towards the sky.

Only retained in the earth by the misty scarf and rare clouds benches which in the course of day take colour with all shades of light. True site "4 stars", Bavella needles- composed tops of porphyry spared by the quaternary erosion of the glaciers and who can attain 900m of top- is the privileged landmark of the bearded vulture and around thirty golden eagles couples which fly tirelessly over the rocky crests.

Starting point of superb hike: Bavella Massif gives nice routes in the conquest of the abrupt tracks for informed and equipped amateurs, in the discovery of small insulated and genuine villages, in the listening of nature which perhaps even more than in Corsica- is meant at once to be rich, manifold and ubiquitous.

Before leaving in rando, a small greeting to Our Snow Lady, which will guarantee a clear and unforgettable walk to the walker...
