Corinth (Korinthos - Korinthia) |
|
You can't get a more "real", and authentic Greek experience
than you can in the region of Corinth. The fragrances from the Sea,
the mountain, and the sweet smell of raisins will follow you everywhere
you go. You'll learn about Greek legends. You'll discover that wine
is called "the blood of Heraclos" and that retsina is the
"tears of nymphs".
Your itinerary :
On the main route to Korinthos, you'll find the Corinth canal,
or as the Greeks call it, the channel. |
| A little further down the road, take a stop at Poseidon's sanctuary
at Isthmia (7th century). Loutros Elenis is a renowned seaside resort;
Almiri a little seaside village. You'll literally be surrounded
by pine and olive trees. Breath in all the wonderful scents. |

|
If you're more of a mountain kind of person, from Neme, go to
Mount Ziria and take a trek to the mountain village of Kastania
at an altitude of 3018 feet.
Back along the seaside, you'll find a string of little coastal
villages along the Corinthian road to Patras. A friendly atmosphere
awaits you there, and so does good food with the salty taste of
the sea, as well as warm sand, blue waters and unforgettable sunsets.
