SAINTE-ANNE |

|
|
You couldn't really say that the village is really popular
with tourists. It's not a top destination because it had to be completely
rebuilt following hurricane Hugo. But you can still find the real
charm of the Antilles here, particularly in the central square of
the village. And Sainte-Anne offers a number of tourist amenities
all in one little village. |
 |
Near Pointe a Pitre, it's geographical situation permits
rapid access to Sainte-Anne without having to deal with the crowds
of tourists at the Gosier. |
|
The town also has two of the best beaches on Guadelopue.
The beaches complement one another and both deserve a visit. |

Indeed, one of them is public and is essentially used by
the locals. The other, that of Club Med, is picture-perfect. This
beach, with its share of palm trees and its perfect exposure is
a true paradise beach. It is ideal for souvenir photos. Go there,
ideally, when the Club Med is closed, there are fewer people. You
might even be the only ones there! (it happened to us!) Surfboard
and boogie board rentals at the beach. |
|
The tourist sites are found in the outskirts of the village,
and in particular, the cemetery, all in black and white, is really
special. The bungalow rentals are of good quality (see DEALS on
this page) There are restaurants all over town. We recommend Chez
Anne where you can eat the best lobster on the island
with your feet in the sand on the public beach. Warning!
The ti-punch is very strong! |
