Its summer time and the docks have hoped in their swimming
suits .

Daily streams of cars have been traded in for zebra crossings!
A mirage lies on the horizon…Paris-Plage ! Look
at the Seine as it turns into a sea.
A beach in the heart of Paris! Along three kilometers, from Pont Henry
IV to the Tuileries, vacation-goers are settling in. …listen…to
the swimming pool water as it laps, mishandled by the children diving
in like kamikazes,...listen... to the glasses tinkling as friends enjoy
an evening drink …At this point, don't be surprised if you run into
a pigeon pretending to be a gull.

While the sun is warming up the crowd and while the docks
have come to resemble Copacabana, the sprayers, which have won the spoondrift
simulator contest, are cooling the crowds down. Although the docks have
come to look like the Riviera, lets avoid jumping to conclusions (or into
the river). After all, the Seine remains the Seine… In order to
test your swimming suit, the swimming pool is open on mornings and evenings
for aqua gym classes! Only under 12 year old kids are allowed to swim
the rest of the day.

On the Activity side…
Program Farniente: Before lounging in
your hammock, try out the recreation room where messages are handed out
skillfully. To freshen up the outer layers of your epidermis nothing better
than the sprayers, For a more intense hydration, head to the taprooms
or to the drinking fountains.
Physical program : In between Malibu
and the South of France, Paris didn't have to make a choice: beach volley
in front of the city hall and "petanque" on the river bank.
Likewise, an aqua gym session is offered for the early birds. As for the
night owls, an afternoon session is also offered while The youngsters
take the opportunity to practice their wall-climbing skills all afternoon.
Creativity program : This setting will
trigger your inspiration, it will fire up your artistic talent! A workshop
enables you to create your personal postcards and post them from Paris
Plage!
The art of creating is always shared. A number of street artists entertain
the docks: musicians, mimes, dancers and object handlers.
Cultural program : The metro and the
RER as a place to read. There must be something more pleasant… on
the sand, next to a deckchair, on the deck of a bar: name it you got it!
Borrow a book on the spot. Randomly…Twenty Thousand leagues Under
the Sea.
Night program : Paris Plage is open
till midnight. Independent artists perform on Friday's and Saturday's
for free. Big thanks to the FNAC
