La Villette:
A slaughter house magically converted into a park!
During the olden days, in this 55 hectares area, the
only magic act consisted in converting calves, cows, and pigs into rib
steaks, flank steaks, and lamb… But after the removal of the slaughterhouse,
the magic spell completely took over and turned the place into wonderland.
A cultural, architectural and natural mish-mash ! A never seen before
site, the biggest grassy area in Paris (35 hectares) !

La cité des sciences et de l’industrie (technology
center) offers an instructive journey through temporary and permanent
expositions . Take a journey into outer space, discover our underwater
mysteries,lLearn all about cars, find out how planes fly... Experience
silence in the sound room, Appear on an advertisement in the visual-imagery
room… and much more!
Villet Madness!
Talking madness… It has come to life in the Villette!
It has invaded the park in the form of red buildings with more or less
defined functions: technology stops, hideout bathrooms or simply monumental
craziness!
La Villette : The making of
In spite of being located in an exceptional area, the
Villette welcomes and convinces us to shut ourselves away in a dark room.
The Géode and its frames (10 times bigger than
at the movies) will give you extreme emotions! In need of Action? Head
in to Cinaxe! A movie animated in a dynamic theatre.
In the Shadoks, another movie theatre, fictions and documentaries
are available in thematic programming. In the cinéma Louis-Lumière,
you must put on your polarized glasses for great sensations!
The green Villette
Let's not forget that the Villette also knows that the
simple pleasures of life are important. Its extended lawns are a perfect
spot for picnicking or to stroll on. The banks of the Ourq lake are perfect
for running or for a romantic walk.
